Yeah, because I am unaware of any previous problems you, Odin Dark, have had with sleeping because of anxiety. This is the first I'm hearing of it.

I'm not comfortable with it either. I don't particularly want to go to therapy with Maxie, but I'm going to, because if I don't get help I'm just gonna end up worse and worse until-- fuck, I don't know. I try to end the world again, or something.

[ i never tried to end the world, so. he doesn't SAY that, but he certainly glares back just as sternly, and odin's typically only good at hiding his emotions when he's had time to prepare beforehand. it's probably pretty obvious what he's thinking? besides, all he's doing by avoiding therapy is slowly collapsing in on himself like a dying star, and he can deal with that. that's his problem. his inevitable self destruction isn't gonna affect anybody but himself, he thinks, stupidly.

he grabs some curry from the fridge, takes it out of its tupperware and scoops a hefty amount into a bowl. he puts it in the microwave with his back to archie, and just stays there avoiding eye contact until it's heated up and ready to serve. he brings it over and drops it on the table when it's done, sitting down across from him. ]

If you eat it and say three nice things about Alex's cooking I'll let you talk to me about therapy stuff. Okay?

Tss. Like that'll be hard.

[archie fucking, just... scarfs it down in like two seconds.]

Because I think it would help, and because I don't want to see you get worse with your insomnia or anxiety or self-esteem issues because you have no coping methods for dealing with them. I-- yes, I'm not saying when you talk to your friends that's a bad thing, I think even being able to do that is very good of you and you should keep it up, but I think being able to talk to a professional who can help you work through your feelings and move forward from them would be beneficial as well.

[and yes, he means the Poe Feelings as well.]

I want you to do therapy stuff because... I think you deserve to think of yourself at least half as well as everyone else does.

It's not-- it's not like I don't know how to cope. I think of my mom and dad being with me and it helps. I work with my hands to calm down. It's just-- the anxiety's a coping thing too? I think.

[ he's not sure if he'll be able to explain what he means by that, so he just rubs at his eyes for a second before staring down at the table, focusing on a mark in the grain so he doesn't have to look at archie. wow, interesting. look at that mark. wow. fascinating.

Things-- are bad. Home. When I'm sent back, I'm gonna be porting back into things that I think-- are a lot worse than what I realized when I first came in. I'll-- either die, or go through something much worse. And. [ he scratches that scruffy chin hair he's been growing. ] My life until now-- sucked? It sucks. Everything about it sucks. I have had a pretty sucky life.

It's easier to dwell on embarrassing shit I do than on the Risen and the wars and the impending doom. I don't know.
