But I've known him since he was twelve? And the last six years of my life back home have been dedicated to protecting him. Keeping him alive. Answering his whims, as his servant and guardian.

I'm one of his only friends. All he's got in America, for sure. And, like. I'll be leaving him one day, and he doesn't know that? I love him and I've pledged fealty to him and I need him to stay happy and healthy in the short time we have together.
That's all it comes down to, really.
His cruelty is all he's known. His edges will soften, now that he's here.
You don't have to worry so much about how he treats me. He's big on cuddles. He's just secretive about it.
